Founded in 2019, by Sana Z Khan, this specialist bijoutière has become the jeweller-of-choice for the discerning buyer who seeks adornment that makes a statement.
Passionate about the arts from a young age, Sana is a self-taught jewellery designer who breathes a sense of bold femininity into her pieces. With an MPhil from Cambridge, the designer began her journey into the jewellery field when she assisted her grandmother with her jewellery exhibitions. Sana soon found herself sketching jewellery designs that she wanted to craft. Deciding to leave her career in the development sector behind, she undertook a rigorous process of research and relearning. This extended process included readings, a formal course in jewellery making, and observing jewellery making as it took place in workshops in Pakistan and overseas. Sana sat with both experts and craftsmen, to learn about tools, techniques, and gemstones.
Two years later, Sana held her debut where she showcased over 40 one-of-a-kind designs. AZURE was launched.
It was her own life – as a professional, a social being, a homemaker, and a woman – that was Sana’s starting point. AZURE designs had to be versatile and capable of expressing many roles and moods. The pieces needed to adorn the wearer at any occasion, and at all times of the day. AZURE jewellery needed to enhance the personality of the modern woman.
